Steven has illustrated 17 picture books to date, including stories of famed authors Margaret Wise Brown (The Dirty Little Boy) and Bill Martin Jr (Chicken Chuck).
He's the author/illustrator of 3 of his own stories (Little Tumbo, Coco the Carrot, and Harry Hungry!) Steven graduated from Parson School of Design in NYC, where he studied under celebrated author/illustrator Maurice Sendak (Where the Wild Things Are). Steven's illustrated picture books have earned praise from The New York Times Book Review, Publishers Weekly, Kirkus Reviews, School Library Journal, Children's Literature and other industry publications.
In addition to illustrating picture books, Steven's illustrations and graphics are also seen in magazines, newspapers, advertising, books, product packaging, corporate publications, retail interior graphics, and web sites. Clients have included: The New Yorker magazine, The Wall Street Journal, American Express, United Airlines, Businessweek magazine, Gourmet magazine, IBM, Nickelodeon and hundreds more...
