Bio

Sherry is a digital illustrator who lived in the San Francisco Bay area of California for over 17 years, where she attended Foothill College and studied Graphic Design/Graphic Arts. After completing college she worked for over a decade as a successful graphic designer and technical illustrator with three high-profile engineering companies.

After relocating to Rocklin, California, where she currently lives, she was lucky enough to have the opportunity to make a career change and now illustrates for children, which is where her heart has always been. Over the last few years she has worked hard putting a portfolio together while simultaneously marketing my work. After a year of marketing and creating art, Sherry was asked to illustrate my first book, Counting Little Geckos. A year later she was fortunate to have Sylvan Dell Publishing notice her work and to date has illustrated five picture books for them and is currently working on a sixth. She also illustrates for the children’s educational market and children’s magazines.

All of Sherry’s art is painted in Photoshop. She began using Photoshop in college in the early 1990’s when it had no layers and no undos. She loves Photoshop and can’t imagine creating her art any other way. While working as a Graphic Designer/ Artist, which included doing technical illustration, she continued to use Photoshop. She is also an expert with Adobe Illustrator which is the program she used to create technical drawings. After using both Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator for over fifteen years she is addicted to digital illustration and an expert at both programs.

Sherry considers herself lucky to be married to a man, who not only supports her in her life’s ambitions, but also her choice of perusing art as a career. She has a wonderful son and daughter, two in of the nicest dogs you’ve ever met and two very old loving cats who enjoy treats, scratches behind their ears and sleeping.
