Michael Kress-Russick has been a freelance medical illustrator for almost twenty years, and has won the Award of Excellence for both Line Art and Textbook illustration in the Association of Medical Illustrator's annual salon. Recently he has become interested in children's illustration and writing. His book, Rogue's Alphabet, won the bronze medal for children's illustration in the 3x3 Magazine Show in 2007. His illustration for the SCBWI website contest in November of 2008 won first prize. His first illustrated PB, Moon Over The Mountain, by Keith Polette, is due to be released in September of 2009. He teaches color theory and design principles at Madison Area technical College.
