Margaret Sanfilippo Lindmark was born in San Jose, California. Her father had a taste for adventure and drove the whole family down to El Salvador when she was six years old, where they lived for the next five years. That experience provided her with wonderful memories that continue to inspire her interest in Hispanic themes and the Spanish language. She lives with her husband in Greenbrae, California, enjoying every minute of being an illustrator.
