Born in Germany, Ralph’s career began at age 13 with a cartoon commission for a sci-fi series written by his dad. Not ready to retire, he continued to hone his artistic skills while earning B.F.A. and M.F.A. degrees in illustration from the Savannah College of Art and Design in Georgia.
A full-time artist since 1993, Ralph has illustrated 5 children’s books as well as 350-plus book covers for various publishers. His character designs are featured in the 3-D animations of “Hermie and Friends,” which have sold more than 1million copies. Ralph also designed characters, contributed set designs and sketched storyboards for “The Pond,” a 3-D animated series.
Published internationally, Ralph’s clients include Tommy Nelson, BenBella Books, GE and Blue Cross Blue Shield.
He currently draws in Charlotte, NC, with his wife Laura, daughters Josephine, Carly and mutt Milka.
