My work as an illustrator really began at the age of fourteen when I began doing small illustration jobs in my rural Illinois town. Since those days, I have continued to develop my own unique style and have had the opportunity to develop the skills needed to work digitally. My illustration work has sometimes had to take a back seat to other career interests (I am also a professional writer and editor). However, my employment in the children's department of a well-established publishing house has provided some wonderful opportunities to further develop my illustration skills. One of my most recent projects was writing and illustrating a best-selling comic book starring characters I developed two years ago.
