Bio

If you're looking for a classic and timeless look, my work harks back to the golden age of 20th century children's book illustration, but with a contemporary feel and rich palette.

After working in the editorial field for 10 years for such publications as LA Weekly, The Sacramento News and Review and The Santa Cruz Metro, I was inspired to return to my first love, children's illustration. To further this aim, I created a portfolio inspired by classic children's tales, for which I received best in show at the North/Central Society of Children's Book Writer's and Illustrator's Spring Spirit conference in 2010. I also received an Ignatz nomination for my graphic novel work for Alternative Comics. I studied illustration at San Jose State University where I received my degree. I am a current member of SCBWI.
