I was once told that my illustration "wasn't sophisticated enough" for editorial work. So rather than lose the bright, whimsical, textural style with a humerous flair that I had developed and loved, I found a very happy and comfortable home in the world of children's publishing....where I intend to stay for a long, long time! Inspired by my own children and animals, I try to bring a sense of joy, humor and a little mischievousness to each book I illustrate.
