Jim graduated from art school in 1986 and began his career as a graphic designer for an ad agency in Philadelphia. After doing work by hand for a few years he finally acquired a Mac. This allowed him to move on as an art director working for a few design studios along the way. Illustration has always been his passion and in 1998 he opened Groggy Dog Studios. After sending out a promo piece he landed an editorial illustration for the Wall Street Journal Classroom Edition. Groggy Dog Studios was up and running.
