Amy Schimleramy@amyschimler.comBioI have been an illustrator and designer for the past ten years selling and licensing my work to a variety of publishers and manufacturers. Jim Caputojim@groggydog.comBioJim graduated from art school in 1986 and began his career as a graphic designer for an ad agency in Philadelphia. After doing work by hand for a few years, he finally acquired a Mac. This allowed him to move on as an art director working for a few design studios along the way. Illustration has always been his passion and in 1998 he opened Groggy Dog Studios. After sending out a promo piece, he landed an editorial illustration for the Wall Street Journal Classroom Edition. Groggy Dog Studios was up and running. “As a kid,” Jim said, “ I was always reprimanded for daydreaming and now I'm getting paid for it!” In 2000, he left Philadelphia and moved to Orlando, Florida. While looking for a full-time job, he took the time to develop his technique and experiment with a mixed media of watercolor, pastel, colored pencil, and brushed ink. This allowed for a fresh look and began doing work for magazines such as chickaDEE and Muse. After nine years of working as an art director by day and illustrator by night, he decided to make illustration a full-time gig in 2007. Jim quips, “My neighbors are convinced I’m hiding under the Federal Witness Protection Program.” His client list includes The Kennedy Center, Scholastic, Ideals Publications, Norwood House Press, and Harcourt. In his spare time, he enjoys physical fitness, going to movies, and reading. All of which provide an endless amount of inspiration.

mollyidlemolly@idleillustration.comBioMolly Idle has been drawing ever since she could wield a pencil, at the tender age of 18 months, though her professional career began slightly later… It was upon her graduation from Arizona State University, with a BFA in Drawing, that Molly accepted an offer to work for DreamWorks Feature Animation Studios. After five years, a number of film credits, and an incredibly good time, she left the studio and leapt with gusto into the world of children's book illustration! Molly now lives in Arizona with her brilliant husband, two wonderfully mischievous sons, and two snuggly cats. When not making mischief with her boys or watching old black and white movies, she can be found at her desk scribbling away, with a pencil in one hand, a cup of espresso in the other, (and a cat in her lap) - creating a plethora of profoundly whimsical illustrations for children! Shelagh Inglesbyshelaghinglesby@gmail.comBioI am a Florida illustrator and graduate of the University of South Florida in 1995, majoring in drawing and painting. I began as an artist working in traditional mediums, from watercolor, to acrylic paints, oil paints, charcoal, conte crayon, ink and pastels but now I enjoy the clean paperless and environmentally friendly aspect of creating my illustrations in computer art programs Photoshop and Corel Painter X. I work in layers so there is a big advantage in being able to edit the final image for a picture book. I use lighting effects, shadows and a textured brush for a luminous dreamy background.
