| Jim Caputo | jim@groggydog.com | Bio | Jim graduated from art school in 1986 and began his career as a graphic designer for an ad agency in Philadelphia. After doing work by hand for a few years, he finally acquired a Mac. This allowed him to move on as an art director working for a few design studios along the way. Illustration has always been his passion and in 1998 he opened Groggy Dog Studios. After sending out a promo piece, he landed an editorial illustration for the Wall Street Journal Classroom Edition. Groggy Dog Studios was up and running. “As a kid,” Jim said, “ I was always reprimanded for daydreaming and now I'm getting paid for it!” In 2000, he left Philadelphia and moved to Orlando, Florida. While looking for a full-time job, he took the time to develop his technique and experiment with a mixed media of watercolor, pastel, colored pencil, and brushed ink. This allowed for a fresh look and began doing work for magazines such as chickaDEE and Muse. After nine years of working as an art director by day and illustrator by night, he decided to make illustration a full-time gig in 2007. Jim quips, “My neighbors are convinced I’m hiding under the Federal Witness Protection Program.” His client list includes The Kennedy Center, Scholastic, Ideals Publications, Norwood House Press, and Harcourt. In his spare time, he enjoys physical fitness, going to movies, and reading. All of which provide an endless amount of inspiration. |

| srnoble | steve@stevennoble.com | Bio | Known all around the world as the most prolific and versatile scratchboard artist in the commercial art world for over 18 years, Steven Noble has created a style around the scratchboard medium that encompasses a wide range of detail and style. Over the years, he has become equally adept in the woodcut, pen and ink, traditional engraving and steel engraving styles, as well as a variety of stylized scratchboard techniques. His highly disciplined and complex line work is based on over 15 years of experience using X-Acto precision knives carved into pre-inked clay boards which generate very fine line strokes which allow a versatility in the detail from bold woodcuts to very fine traditional 19 century steel engravings.Over the course of his career, he has created many nationally recognized logos and ad campaigns for a large list of prestigious and high caliber clients such as Coors (corporate/packaging logo), Exxon-Mobil (stock certificate), JP Morgan (annual report) and Mercedes-Benz (ad campaigns). A lot of his expertise encompasses a large volume of subject matter that include food, portraits, animals, maps, architecture, and corporate conceptual images. In 2001, he won the "Meade Show Award for Excellence" for creating the best corporate conceptual illustration for an annual report for the Wet Seal's 2001 Annual Report. In addition, in 1996 his work was recognized in the Communication Art Magazine for the best advertising spot for "Beaulieu Vineyards." Steven continues to strive for excellence in his work and is always up for the next challenge. One of his last projects was a series of illustrations for the acclaimed Children's book "Zathura" which came out (Fall 2005) at the same time as the release of the movie "Zathura". You can see more samples in the Workbook, Black Book, and Directory of Illustration. For a comprehensive sampling of over 2500 images of Steven Noble's work go to: www.stevennoble.com. |

| Susan Gal | susan@galgirlstudio.com | Bio | Susan Gal began her illustration career as a poster and calendar artist in Los Angeles and then became an 'in-betweener' (the artist who fills in the movements between key-visuals ) for Disney Animation Florida. The lure of the silver screen dulled and Susan returned to her native California where she happily creates lively, textural and whimsical illustrations in the beautiful Bay Area. When not illustrating, Susan enjoys biking, backpacking, and hiking to really high places with her husband and daughter. Susan wrote and illustrated her first children's book, Night Lights, to be published by Knopf in June 2009. |
| Tanja Bauerle | tanja@bauerle.com | Bio | Even though Tanja has been an artist her entire life she has worked professionally as a Graphic Designer for over 12 years. Her design sense and strong composition and color skills can clearly been seen in her illustrations. Since 2003, Tanja has strictly worked as a freelance illustrator and designer with her main focus being children’s illustration. Her first picture book, “There’s a Coqui in My Shoe!”, written by Marisa de Jesus Paolicelli and released by ChiChi Rodriguez Books in 2007, won the 2008 10th Annual International Latino Book Awards for Best Educational Children's Book - English. Her second book “The Adventures of Salt and Soap at Grand Canyon” published by the Grand Canyon Association will be released in the spring of 2009. In addition to design and illustration projects varying from character studies, book illustrations, greeting cards and marketing collateral, Tanja has enjoyed working on numerous book jackets ranging from children’s titles to adult fiction and non-fiction titles. Her love of story telling drives her to continually refine her craft. Traditional mediums such as acrylics, water color as well as pen and ink are Tanja’s favorite, but she also loves the freedom that digital tools such as Photoshop offer. Tanja is an active member of the Arizona chapter of the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators and helps out as Co-Illustrator Representative. After having lived in Germany and Australia, Tanja now calls Arizona her home with her family and her two Goldens Otto and Peanut and cat Ducky. |

However, obtaining a lemon is quite frustrating. I am a writer/blogger from California, and grateful California Lemon Law is mandated to protect consumer rights from those manufacturers who wants to rob people's money.
