About the Artist

• Leanne Franson

  Leanne Franson lives just outside Saskatoon Saskatchewan where she illustrates children's books and textbooks in her home studio surrounded by bookshelves her cat Asterix and her son Taotao and his "bricolages". She recently moved back to the prairies after 30 years in Montreal where she became fluently bilingual in French and is now learning Mandarin Taotao's native language. She especially loves drawing animals and feisty children having adventures physical or emotional. After decades of pencil and brush Leanne is exploring mixing digital and traditional media with all the flexibility that offers.
