About the Artist

• Debbie Palen

  I'm a full-time professional illustrator, working in a combination of traditional and digital. I love giving emotion and motion to characters, emphasizing the humorous personalities that animals and humans and inanimate objects possess. My illustrations have been recognized by Print , How, 3x3, Mom's Choice Awards and The Educational Press Association of America. I have worked with several major children's book publishers and children's magazines. I hold a BFA in Fine Art from Kent State University. When not illustrating, I enjoy yoga, hiking, music, laughing, and looking at art.
